Cleveland, OH - Conservative outsider Mike Gibbons said today that he supports protecting our schools and allowing appropriate school staff who are comfortable handling firearms to carry one. Conservative leaders including President Trump have also supported the idea of armed and trained school personnel.
"Gun free zone signs aren't keeping our kids safe," Gibbons said. "We must do everything we can to protect them. Giving school personnel, who are comfortable with firearms, the training and option to have a secured weapon on campus will mean a faster response when a gunman gets into a school with the goal of killing dozens of innocent lives. Some school districts, including Ohio, already allow this, showing it can be done. Not only can it be done, it must."
In Ohio, some school districts allow concealed carry by educators who undergo extensive training.
